Sunset Drift is a loose, expressive watercolour inspired by those moments when the last light of the day seems to dissolve into the landscape. Colour drifts and mingles across the paper, suggesting rather than defining sea, sky and distant land.
Working on a larger half-sheet gave me the freedom to let the water and pigment move, creating unexpected textures and allowing the painting to find its own direction.
The result is less about a particular place and more about a feeling — warmth, space and that brief moment of stillness as daylight begins to disappear.
